Three Questions with Michael Boltzman, Executive Director, Talent Partnerships
Michael is lifelong live music junkie and an award-winning talent buyer who’s been producing corporate entertainment for over 25 years.
What is an example of a recent G7 booking that added value to a corporate event?
Music is universal – it brings people together, creates energy, and adds value by elevating an event experience. We recently did a show with the legendary Elton John. The iconic performer made a powerful connection with an audience that spanned a wide demographic. Attendees were engaged throughout the show which created excitement and a sense of celebration.
How can a celebrity speaker deliver on a brand message to its audience?
The right speaker can deliver a message in a compelling and impactful way that supports a conference or event’s theme. Expertise in a specific area provides credibility to their message and storytelling can help make an emotional connection with the audience. We recently booked Jason Sudeikis to participate in a moderated conversation. The overarching theme of the conference was adaptability, purpose, and resilience – all characteristics that allowed Jason’s character from his hit show, Ted Lasso, to make such a deep connection with a broad audience.
If a company is considering bringing in talent, what key deliverables should they be considering?
There are so many variables to discuss when we begin ideating about talent that will align with the client’s event goals. For example – what is the purpose of the talent and what role will they play in the overall program? How will the talent engage the audience (speech, performance, panel discussion, etc.)? What are the audience demographics? Are there other expectations of the talent (content customization, length of performance, use of promo materials, meet/greet, etc.)?
